Sec. 1251Oversight of military-to-military exchanges and contacts between the United States and the Russian Federation

Requires the Secretary of Defense to submit a report on oversight of military-to-military exchanges and contacts between the united states and the russian federation not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.

Statutory text

(a) Report required. Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, and every 90 days thereafter, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report detailing any instance of bilateral military-to-military exchange or contact between the Department of Defense and the Government of the Russian Federation.

(b) Elements. Each report required in subsection (a) shall include—(1)a list of each instance of military-to-military exchange or contact between the Department of Defense and the Government of the Russian Federation;(2)a description of the purpose of each such instance of military-to-military exchange or contact;(3)a detailed description of the benefits the Government of the Russian Federation expects to gain from such military-to-military exchanges and contacts; and(4)a detailed assessment of the benefits the Department of Defense expects to gain from such military-to-military exchanges and contacts.

(c) Sunset. This section shall cease to be effective on December 31, 2029.
