Sec. 622Accumulation of leave for members of the Armed Forces

Amends title 10, United States Code relating to accumulation of leave for members of the armed forces.

Statutory text

(a) Accumulation of leave for members of the Armed ForcesSection 701 of title 10, United States Code, is amended—(1)by striking subsections (b), (e), and (g);(2)by redesignating subsections (c), (d), (f), (h), (i), (j), (k), (l), and (m) as subsections (b) through (j), respectively; (3)in subsection (d), as redesignated by paragraph (2), by striking without regard to the limitations in subsections (b) and (e); and(4)in subsection (f) (as so redesignated), by striking , subject to the accumulation limits in subsections (b) and (e),.

(b) Conforming amendments

(1) Cadets and midshipmen. Section 702(c) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by striking section 701(m) and inserting section 701(j).

(2) Emergency leave retention authority(A)In generalSection 2508 of title 14, United States Code, is repealed.(B)Clerical amendmentThe table of sections at the beginning of chapter 25 of title 14, United States Code, is amended by striking the item relating to section 2508.

(3) Payments for unused accrued leave. Section 501 of title 37, United States Code, is amended—(A)in subsection (b), by striking paragraph (6); and(B)in subsection (h), by striking section 701(f) and inserting section 701(d).

(4) Absences due to sickness, wounds, and certain other causesSection 502(b) of title 37, United States Code, is amended by striking and section 701(g) of title 10.
